Your Google Adwords account includes a keyword tool. Open it up and play with it a bit. See how it works, and get used to the layout.

In particular, learn to pay close attention to the “Global Monthly Search Volume” which Google gives you for every keyword you research. Low volume keywords are just the ticket– they are the signposts to where you will be able to show your affiliate ads for minimum cost.

2. Use the affiliate website to start with. Instead of going to the trouble of building your own website, you as a novice should just use the affiliate site given to you by the vendor.

There are a couple of reasons for doing this. The guy who created the affiliate scheme in the first place will have taken the trouble to build a good sales page– after all they want to earn money easily and with minimal hassle, don’t they?– so take advantage of that fact.

Also, building your own site is simply a task too far for the newbie. Minimize the number of new tasks you have to do at the beginning to avoid “information overwhelm”.

3. Cheap and extensive advertising. There are hundreds of places to show a small ad with a link to your affiliate page. Start with Craigslist and US Small Ads. Good, targeted traffic is what your business thrives on, and these sites can help you get it.

4. Get subscribers. With some experience, you should think about building your own site, or outsourcing this job. 4. Viral reports. Giving away viral reports on your site is a time tested way of helping you build your subscriber list. Offer folks a free report and give them permission to just give it away for you– making sure that each page of each report has a link to your subscriber sign up page!

5. Write and publish great articles. Let me repeat that: Write and publish great articles! A lot of the articles I see on the net are plain rubbish, I am sorry to say– but that creates an opportunity if you really like to write.
