In these times of need more and more people are turning to the Internet in search of a second income. Sadly not all of us have the skills or the means to design our own websites and many choose to join sites such as WordPress or Blogger. However web templates may be a solution to the problem.
If you are planning on using a web template it is very important that you understand the rules. Rules are only slightly different from site to site but the fact is that if you break just one of these rules you will be using the template illegally. The main differences between the rules appear between free web templates and commercial templates.
How To Use Free Web Templates
The most important thing to notice when using free web templates is the author’s link. This link must appear on either the homepage or all pages of your site.
After just a few minutes browsing free web templates and you find yourself thinking the choice is infinite. Unfortunately this is very far from the truth, yes the number is huge but so is the number of people using them. If you have a site about a very small niche and you find the perfect web template all about that topic you must keep in mind that a competitor could be using the exact same template, which wouldn’t be very good.
To make you site look very different to others on the Internet you can still use free web templates but choose one which allows you to change the main image. WordPress has plenty of templates which allow this photo to be changed in just a few clicks and within seconds your site will look unique.
It is relatively easy to create your own header image. Professionals use applications such as Photoshop but there are plenty of cheaper competitors out there and several shareware/freeware editors which are more than capable. You can also hire somebody to create the image for you and those hired online can cost as little as a few dollars.
